CALM

In the beginning, when you do your first WREMS, the sensation we call CALM comes as a surprise. The WREMS process itself forces your brain to 'de-frag' just like a computer will do as it sorts files and compresses material to adjust the amount of space available. As you near the completion of your first 90 minute sessions, the sensation of CALM can be almost scary.

You feel certain and secure and safe. You are aware the answers you've received during your WREMS are the answers for which you've always searched. It's like hiking through deep dark shadowy woods and suddenly coming into a bright sunny meadow where the sky goes on forever. Or wondering and worrying about a person close to you, if he is okay, and then getting a phone call, hearing his voice saying, "Hi, I'm fine."

Reaching CALM, although magical and mystical at first, is actually only a sign that you've cleared out the emotion - memory - behavior file you worked on. No need to make it more complicated than that.

As you do more and more WREMS work, the sensation of CALM will become familiar, and welcome. After several years of WREMS work, you'll aim for the CALM as a place of meditation. Even better, you'll find yourself in CALM for longer and longer periods of time because of how clearly you can think there. You can bring it forward when you need it in emergencies and you can count on that space to find answers to problems. Music and art and writing are done in CALM. And lots of other Zen activities. This is where you go when you're driving long distances and why ideas come so easily the moment you're not concentrating on finding THE answer!

One common misconception by beginning WREMSers is that CALM and PEACE/ ACCEPTANCE are the same. Not so. Peace and Acceptance are reached by working completely through GRIEF. The most powerful and enlightening emotion, GRIEF is a combination of several emotions, primarily ANGER and SHAME/ EMPATHY. (red and blue = purple ) Being in PEACE (pale lavender) is a feeling like no other. This is where Buddhist monks want to go by doing years of meditation. The closest concept in Christianity is grace. PEACE is the resolution of horror, the solving of anguish, the coming to ACCEPTANCE. Humans are not the only creatures who achieve PEACE. All sentient creatures have some level of GRIEF experience. Elephants for example, and we know that the whales compose long, exquisite songs for lost family members.

So what is CALM? As you work through your WREMS session and you go through your own particular, learned, emotion cycle, you are desensitizing. Whichever emotion was the center of that cycle, let's say: ANGER, when you reach CALM, you become DETERMINED. You are at the lightest of red, you are certain. You remain ANGRY, but it has become positive ANGER. You may still be very FRUSTRATED or IRRITATED, but there are now answers or at least a path to follow and you are DETERMINED.

Let's say the emotion primary to the cycle you're WREMSing is FEAR. Remember that FEAR is a secondary emotion, green, and is a combination of joy-apathy and shame-empathy (yellow and blue). The darkest of FEAR is SHOCK. In other words, you can't move, you are apathetic in the worst way. Paralyzed. As you work through FEAR - and it's a very difficult emotion to work through because FEAR was designed as a warning device for animals - that adrenaline rush - you finally come through the cycle (eg: FEAR - ANGER - SHAME - APATHY - FEAR) and reach the lightest shade of green. This is EXCITEMENT and THRILL. Still adrenaline. You may not recognize you're in THRILL, you may have to do a WREMS to help you realize how you've changed, but trust that the sensation of CALM means you've solved your ANXIETY and FEAR.

Now review each emotion and practice feeling the lightest part of it. Surprise! After doing WREMS, you'll feel perfectly okay feeling the positive side of an emotion. You are truly free and in control

PEACE

Peace - a multi-colored word -
sought by those the world around;
but its meaning can be heard
only in the heart's pure sound.
Only when we know the beauty
of the night-sky, black and clear;
hear the howl of the wild wolf
and feel the blood of the leaping deer.

Only when we allow each soul
all they feel and all they can be,
and know that eyes and hair, and skin
are only things our eyes can see.
Peace is the snowfall over the land,
the moonglow in the evening dim.
Open your soul to the Universe -
Peace can only be found within.
